2023 New Year’s Resolution
It’s that time again. The time you think about all the stuff you messed up, didn’t even start, got side-tracked, depressed or simply busy and didn’t actually do any of your proud list of things you were going to fix in this brand spanking new year of… which year is it?
2023.
Oh, right. Exercise — nah. Eating healthily — a bit. Working really hard and not getting put off your path by feeling awful because of bronchitis or a break up or just feeling awful.
And you know you’re going to try really hard for two weeks and after that around the 14th January, you’ll go right back to what you always do.
So I have a suggestion for you. Pick one New Year’s Resolution. Just one. Set it up so it doesn’t matter if you forget.
To give you an example, in 2015 (I think) I decided my resolution would be that I would floss my teeth every night. I think that was my first Just One resolution.
Sure, I forgot a couple of nights but because there was Just One resolution it wasn’t so easy to forget or so tiring to remember. So within a month I actually had a proper little habit of flossing my teeth every night — to the point where if I forgot, I would have to get up out of bed, floss my teeth and then go back to bed again.
