Aargh! It’s three o’clock in the morning!

I woke up an hour earlier, tossed and turned,

Got up half an hour ago

To do the washing up.

You see I’m teaching my body that

She doesn’t like doing the washing up

At 3 am but since she’s awake,

She might as well.

At least when I come down again in a few hours

The done plates and saucepans

Will be a lovely surprise.

I now know who’s the culprit in this

Horrible o’clock bushy-tailed

And bright eyed self.

It’s coffee. I’ve got you good and proper.

No coffee for a week or more,

Sleeping really well,

Not waking up in the small hours.

Coffee yesterday at 10ish.

It was really good coffee which I love

With its completely other

Paint-chart of tastes.

But.

Here I am at 3.20 am, writing,

Because the washing up is done

And I haven’t anything else boring to do

And I’m still wide-eyed and energetic.

Damn it!
