Bravo again, Umair. Again, you're right. I think we need a revolution here in Britain to get rid of the idiots in parliament: Tories of course, but unfortunately Labour too since they seem incapable of grasping a dead-nettle, let alone a live one.

In the whole Tory leadership contest (for Prime Minister, who will be elected by about 160,000 mostly elderly white men) only one of the candidates (Tugendhart) had anything to say about the environment at all. The rest witter about recycling.

They are so comically useless it would be funny if they weren't so dangerous.

To them nationalising anything is anathema for ideological reasons that have nothing to do with reality.

So we need to get rid of the whole lot.

Unfortunately they have a very powerful band of media corporations to pump them up.

The answer to the root problem is so simple, it's laughable.

We have to stop burning fossil fuels. Immediately and completely. Today or at least this year. That way we turn off the taps that are pumping CO2 and methane into the atmosphere. We can do it if we just use sustainable tech properly.

For instance, why isn't every roof in the UK covered with solar panels? That would be a start, wouldn't it?

After we've stopped pumping billions of tons of CO2 into the air, then we can start sequestering the stuff in basalt rocks.

But fossil fuels come first.
