Dear Fossil-Fuel Employees…

I’m going to do my best not to shout. No, really. I know that nobody thinks their job is a destroying the Earth. Other people do that, not me.

However.

If you work for the Fossil Fuel Corporations, you have to at least consider it, don’t you?

I mean, it’s not as if climate denial is still a legitimate way to think. No, sorry, it isn’t. Unless you’re prepared to heroically claim that you are a guaranteed 150% moron and that the planet isn’t heating up (it is) and the storms aren’t getting worse (they are) and that the icesheets aren’t melting faster and faster (they are) and that floods aren’t washing away topsoil and etc and so on…

Even if you’re a convinced Republican and still an ardent fan of Donald I’m-still-president Trump, you’ve got to have a teensy bit of doubt.

Anyway, I’m not terribly concerned with you anyway, because if the last two years haven’t convinced you that climate change is here and affecting you — snow-bomb in Texas, anybody? — nothing will.

The people I’m trying to reach, any way I can, are the decent people, the people working for the FFCs (BP, Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Total, Aramco et al) who earn good money but probably aren’t getting the £7 million tax rebate like the Shell CEO in 2021.
