I might say that at least the Catholic Church is honest about its unyielding prejudice. I still go to church for a number of reasons. One of them is the Remoaner's point that it's often easier to influence an institution from the inside than the outside.
The congregation is generally streets ahead of any Church on what clerics call 'inclusivity' and I'd prefer to call 'love.'
Apart from all that, judging by the Vatican and considering its sheer numbers of variously gay clergy, the Catholic Church has some claim to be the largest gay institution in the world.
If only they could repent of their hypocrisy, they would be a wonderful force for good.
