Satsuma and a Just Stop Oil hi-viz. My photo.

I’ve just come back from a week of annoying the drivers of London — yes, I am a member of Just Stop Oil and therefore an eco-terrorist, an eco-zealot and an eco-freak, dedicated to the overthrow of all right-thinking people, King Charles’s realm and threatening the sleep of poor little Richie Sunak.

With my fellow-loonies, I march along large and busy roads randomly across London, often in the rush hour, snarling up the traffic and causing apoplexy among the petrolheads of London. There are usually about ten to thirty of us and let me tell you, it takes skill to put a slow-moving block of people on a busy road without killing anybody.

Did I mention that we walk very slowly — which is a good thing for me, because I have a problem with my back which means I can’t walk fast at all and more usually I walk anywhere at the speed of a paralytic snail. The doctors say that walking will help the problem with my back but running definitely won’t.

You’ll be wondering why I come up to London, sleep on the floor, get up at horrible o’clock and walk along roads intended for cars not pedestrians?

Well, to put it modestly, me and my fellow-loonies are trying to save the world.

Yes, I know. You don’t care, you just want to drive faster and get to work faster. Of course you do recycling and maybe you’re…
