For goodness sake, Umair, what are you panicking about? All we're short of (sort of) is tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers - and who wants those in winter? Proper Brits don't eat 'em.

As for the Small Boat problem? Don't confuse tabloid hysteria with public opinion. The tabloids hate asylum seekers because it's a good headline and they're run by Murdoch and Barclay who hate anyone brown. Most Brits can't be bothered to hate people.

They're just waiting patiently for the general election to arrive so they can give the Tories an epic kicking. Personally I'd like to speed it up a bit to make the gerrymandering harder. It's difficult but doable: vote of no confidence, general election within a month.
