Is Fortune a terrorist? She’s said to take hostages.

She is said to be blind, said to be fickle.

She sits on a wheel, a very silly place,

Unstable, uncomfortable and rather noisy.

She is said to have a long forelock

For easy grasping, and is bald behind.

Sounds just like a terrorist.

So far she has eluded me, but I see her

As a principle of Randomness

And Probability, with a tiny spice of luck.

Those two clowns jostle her

And pick her pockets and she laughs

Because she knows we are all her slaves,

Except when we’re not, and break free.

Fortune too is subject to Randomness,

And she glories in it.
