Hi - I might be a relative if you're related to Victor Finney who was an MP in the 1920s - he was my grandfather.

You're right, of course, and at the very best Bill Gates is just trying to greenwash the status quo - which made him rich so he's understandably fond of it.

We have to totally transform our economics, our politics and our societies so that we can live in harmony with the planetary organism, which I call Our Lady Earth.

Anything less and we'll be extinct in a hundred years or so - and will deserve it.

I enjoyed "Doughnut Economics" very much - though not being an economist found some of the diagrams quite tough going. But it's the first time I've seen something that fully admits that our current economic models - especially predatory capitalism - are mainly to blame for global heating.

I take great hope from the way we just completely transformed our lives to fight covid 19 - we could do the same to stop climate change in a couple of months if we really wanted to. Obviously we're too comfy at the moment, unfortunately.

Historically, nobody could get fruits out of season before around the 1970s and we'll survive if we have to go back to that.
