Look at the historical record for how humans normally behave when a pandemic heads their way - because that's how most of the west behaved in the face of Covid 19. Denial. Bullshit. Some countries behaved differently and have done well - or at least better than the USA.

So far there has been nothing more abnormal than China, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan taking effective action. They're the anomalies, not the bone-headed authoritarians like Brazil's Bolsonaro.
