I have numerous notebooks, all half full. Any time I wake up with a fully-formed sentence in my head I say it aloud and write it down wherever I can find a notebook. I have many pens as well, some of which work.

Yes, sometimes what you find later is gobbledegook but sometimes it's golden and forms the starter for a poem or a story or even a book.
