I have rooftop solar which is paying me around £200 per month in the summer. My hot water and central heating system is ancient and unhappy gas. I've been told I can't have a heat pump because my house is too small (no, I don't believe it either). Everybody I've consulted has turned out to be a gas engineer under the greenwash. It's also a fact that electricity prices in the UK are set at a 3:1 ratio to gas to support the North Sea fields.
So I'm waiting and hoping that the gas boiler can keep going a bit longer.
I'm agnostic about what I should replace the gas boiler with, so long as it isn't another gas boiler.
