I think you're being a little unfair. What Eugene Goodman did on the 6th January goes a little further than just saving lives - probably quite a lot of them Congressmen and women. That's pretty good to start with but there's more.

Because Eugene Goodman was on those stairs and lured the white supremacists to follow him up the stairs, a successful coup was averted. If he hadn't been there or if he had run away or if he hadn't dealt with the crowd with the coolness and nerve that he did, there could have been a bloodbath.

That's bad enough, but Eugene Goodman did something more. He prevented Trump from declaring martial law and setting the election aside. He prevented Trump from having a second, third, fourth term, followed by his son.

Eugene Goodman didn't just save lives on the 6th January. He saved the lives of all the Black, Latino and ethnic people who might have died afterwards in Trump-camps. On a timeline where Eugene Goodman died as a baby, Black Lives would never have Mattered again.

That's what Eugene Goodman did.
