I was told (by a gas boiler engineer) that the UK's electricity prices are set in a fixed ratio to gas prices. A couple of years ago the ratio was 1 : 4 gas:electricity. So if you pay £10 on your gas bill, you'll pay £40 on your electricity bill.
The ratio has been tweaked recently. Now it's 1 : 3.
So if you pay £10 on your gas bill you'll pay £30 on your electricity.
I suppose that's some kind of improvement.
How about 1 : 1 eh?
