I'm hoping that Sir Kier is just lying so that the loony Tory press don't eviscerate him (and ruin his chances at winning the next election) for wanting more migration.
Hilariously, this is a headline from the Guardian today (25 Nov 22):
"Net migration has risen to a record high of 504,000 because of government schemes for Ukrainians and Hong Kongers, and a significant increase in international students. The figure is at least 400,000 higher than the government had been aiming for."
God help us if the government does get what it's aiming for.
This is such bollocks - and it's all caused by the tiny extreme right wing of the Tory party threatening to rebel against poor little Rishi.
Most English people don't give two hoots about immigration any more, having recovered from the loony Tory press's scaremongering about it.
They've got more important stuff to worry about, such as how to heat their house without going bankrupt, how to deal with 50% food inflation and an oncoming crash in the housing market.
