I’m afraid that Moana 2 is essentially the same film as Moana 1, just not as good. It also has a dull beginning clogged with exposition, a cute toddler so cute she made all my fillings ache and my blood sugar triple, plus the not terribly funny living-tattooed demi-god hero from last time.
I understand it was supposed to be a TV series but got converted to a movie — bad decision, chaps! I found the first Moana quite charming and the second exactly as charming as a second stick of candyfloss in an hour. I’m only giving it three stars because of the voice cast who did their very best and the second half of the film which was predictable but not as bad as the first half.
Unforgivably not even the pig was funny.
