Neo-liberalism - aka predatory capitalism - is an utterly stupid but very tempting way to organise an economy. Put the rich in charge and everything will be great... Not.

And yes, people are revolting against it and trying to go backwards to the safer better times when they were children - just as a lot of people in ex-Communist Europe sigh for Communism because they remember their childhoods when they were secure because they never questioned the world - children don't, it's teenagers who question the world usually.

We've lost our ideologies: communism died in 1989; neo-liberalism actually died in 2007-8 and has been zombying around ever since.

We're better off without them but we miss the power of the story, the reassurance of the Mythos - the Worker's Paradise that's just around the corner; the wealth that really does trickle down from the billionaires and reinvigorates our poor stricken economies.

We need a new Mythos, one that has some basis in fact but gives us all hope for the future.

It's tricky...
