Oh Umair, I have tears in my eyes - this is a beautiful article but also I believe important and maybe even world-changing.

Article by article, you're hammering out a plan for getting us out of the mess we're in.

Who cares if people think you're naive and impractical. That's what they called the abolitionists of slavery. That's what they called the Suffragettes.

In fact if people DON'T call you naive, idealistic and impractical, you're probably playing way too safe.

And I love your penultimate line: "Nothing in human history has been worthier than the fight before us now, which is the one for a world that is full of a little more goodness, grace, truth, beauty, wonder. A little more full of life."

I don't agree that "that is what this thing called 'civilization' really is and always has been."

I'm afraid that civilizations have always been brutal power-hungry affairs and ours is no different.

We need something bigger and better than a mere civilization: we need to unite as a species, save ourselves and the Earth as well.

As Ghandi probably didn't say [https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/first-they-ignore-you/ ]: First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you and then you win.
