One of your best, Umair, really. You set out what we must do clearly and succinctly. You make clear the consequences if we don't do it.
You don't actually deal with "how" we do it, but "what" and "why" is a good start.
How can we organise a whole planet full of 8 billion argumentative flaky river apes into doing what's needed so that half of them don't die?
I have no idea, but thanks to your clarity at least I can start thinking about it.
I think though that if our current civilization falls, the chances are good that homo sapiens will be extinct a few centuries later. We'll richly deserve it, but I must admit to being biased on the side of humans surviving.
When people say "existential threat" they are often thinking of philosophy. Existential threat means simply that our existence is threatened.
But us river apes are really good at solving problems, once we stop quarrelling and focus properly .
So how do we mobilise that focus?
