I paddled in the sea today

Just to say hello.

It was grey weather,

The water very cold,

Everything the same.

But I’d been ill with covid

And my body said,

“Don’t swim.

Give me a little longer.”

So I’m not swimming

Today or for a week.

I miss the boost.

How daft to get addicted

To swimming!

I’ll be back, sea,

I promise.
