Umair, stop panicking. There is no situation that is improved by panic, not even the existential problems we face.

As I commented before, Our Lady Earth isn't trying to kill us - yet.

Covid was a warning shot. It's an amazingly gentle pandemic with a deathrate that doesn't even scratch the 8 billion of us. Measles in a virgin field epidemic is much more dangerous, never mind plague or smallpox.

She wants us to be Her reproductive tract - yes, I know, from the crown of creation to the planetary organism's vagina, it's a bit of a comedown, isn't it?

It's hard for a planetary organism to reproduce and spread to new environments unless she evolves a technological species to carry Her across the millions of miles of hard vacuum and ionising radiation between the planets.

And she has. Us.

We have two jobs. One, find a way to live in harmony with Her while we're living on the Earth. Otherwise She'll have to wipe us out in sheer self-defence.

Two, find a way to take Her DNA and Her ecologies first to the planets and then, maybe, to the stars.

We're very lucky to be living in such interesting times...
