Welcome to the grown up world. There won't be sunlit uplands - that's for when you're dead. As with everything in this fascinating material world, the arrival is not the point. It's the journey that matters. Cliche, I know, but just try it.

Don't look forward to arriving. Try and enjoy each step, each mountain to climb. Every so often we'll happen upon a good campsite and camp there for a little while, then carry on.

Covid is more like a deep dark valley - the valley of death, perhaps - but since we're here, we might as well learn what we can, enjoy what we can and tell our families we love them as often as we can.

Because love is the point. Except it isn't a point, it's a field.
