Well William - I know this: I voted for the Common Market as soon as I could vote (1976). I'd campaigned for it well before then. I continued voting for it in various forms until the catastrophe of 2016.
By the way, I seem to recall you being of the opinion around that time that leaving the EU wouldn't make much difference.
Seeing that the UK economy has tanked since then (coincidence? plot?) I'm still going to vote for going back at least into the Common Market any time I can.
I don't see what the problem with migration is. Didn't we just take around 600,000 legal migrants from all round the world? Because we need them desperately to cure our terrible demography?
I also seem to remember that my father approved of the migration rules of the EU because at least the bloody foreigners wouldn't be black or brown.
Ah well. Apparently Slovenia and Poland will be ahead of us in the economy race, so that's nice.
Frankly, I see the whole stupid Brexit argument as a complete waste of time as long as the world is burning and Little Richie Sunak is still going hard for fossil fuels.
Though I do think it would be better for us to have friends in Europe for when the food starts running out.
