I’m hard on my nice Vivobarefoot shoes

What shall I do today? I’ve finished my book.

What shall I do today? I’ve cleaned my house.

What shall I do today? I’ve done my taxes,

Paid council tax, paid invoices, shopped.

What shall I do today?

Well, I’m meeting a friend for coffee.

I’m meeting a guest. A handyman is coming

To put up guttering. I’ll be in Truro!

So I might buy… chocolate? Or something.

For ninety per cent of my time

I’m preoccupied with my current book

Or

I feel vaguely unhappy because I’m not writing.

Not today. Today is my day off.

What shall I do today? I’ll be loafing.

I tend to do business stuff in a rush between books which are so much more fun.
