You silly sausage — I do have a history degree from a very prestigious university and have spent all my life writing historical novels.

But I admit that my knowledge of American history is weak.

Please explain to me why the original Plymouth Massachusetts colony was not a theocracy. Saying that they didn’t call it a theocracy is not good enough, I’m afraid. You can include quotations showing that women were permitted to speak in church and that the intention of the Pilgrim Fathers was not to set up a very strict Puritan (Calvinist) community.

I’ll be fascinated to read it.
