Your farmer father-in-law is part of the problem. NOT "cut down a tree, plant a tree" but "don't cut down a tree, harvest plants that grow under it"; NOT "catch a fish, throw a fish back" but don't catch the fish in the first place.

It's all in the detail, isn't it.

I really struggle to stay optimistic in the face of the boneheadedness displayed by so many people. Transformation is a nice word, but what we really need is a benign revolution - not the kind of ideological destruction that happened in Russia and France, but a revolution where we force people to behave... And of course force is the problem.

If there are any benevolant aliens out there monitoring our progress, you might want to consider getting a move on and invading.
